What is Alsama Project?
Alsama is an ambitious and innovative NGO which runs education centres for out-of-school teenagers in Lebanon’s refugee camps. Students join us illiterate and innumerate; we develop programmes that allow them to catch up with 12 years of high school education within 6 years, preparing them to enter mainstream school, university and skilled employment.
What is the role?
As Alsama’s Systems Officer, you will ensure that Alsama lives up to its reputation as a data-driven organisation that works with transparency to make informed decisions. You will run our software systems in a way that improves Alsama’s capabilities and builds for the future.
What will you achieve at Alsama?
Software systems play a key role in supporting and enabling Alsama’s on-the-ground work. You will help Alsama deliver on our strategic targets by ensuring Alsama’s impact is captured & communicated professionally.
You will control systems that provide valuable data to inform the Lead Team’s decision-making on Alsama’s impact targets.
You will improve and embed tools and systems for measuring targets, ensuring that Alsama’s foundations are built on data entry and reporting.
What will you do?
1. Administer Alsama’s Core Systems (Salesforce, Odoo, PowerSchool, Microsoft 365 + Sharepoint)
i. Ensure all four systems are up-to-date, fully functional, and aligned to Alsama’s operating needs
ii. Grant, restrict, and manage user access based on staff roles and security protocols
iii. Make ongoing configuration changes directly within the platforms (fields, workflows, permissions)
iv. Maintain documentation related to system configurations and changes
2. Build strong internal relationships to support system use
i. Be the first point of contact for internal queries and issues related to all four systems
ii. Troubleshoot problems in collaboration with relevant departments and escalate when necessary
iii. Train new staff and conduct refreshers for existing users
iv. Translate feedback into system improvements or changes
3. Manage external system partners and implementers
i. Maintain strong working relationships with all third-party consultants (Salesforce, Odoo, PowerSchool)
ii. Represent Alsama in regular check-ins and configuration meetings
iii. Track external consultants’ deliverables and ensure alignment with Alsama priorities
iv. Ensure handover and documentation of all third-party work
4. Contribute to Alsama’s long-term systems vision
i. Help shape the roadmap for how systems evolve as Alsama scales
ii. Identify future integration points between systems
iii. Recommend new tools or modules that can increase effectiveness

What proficiencies will you need?
- Experience with Software Systems (Odoo, Salesforce, PowerSchool, Microsoft 365 a plus), and a strong ability in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Quantitative and analytical skills: identifying appropriate metrics and KPIs for M&E to facilitate data-driven decision making for leadership roles.
- Ability to identify data requirements and use systems to create visual dashboards for data management.
- Structured and compelling verbal, visual and written communication skills in English and Arabic
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in business, statistics, mathematics, computer science, information management or related fields.
- Systems expertise with NGOs, in the public sector or for private companies
