Job Purpose

The Social Media / Community Officer will serve as the frontline voice of the Dollani Initiative across digital platforms, embodying our brand through compelling content, community engagement, and impactful campaigns. This role will enhance our visibility, grow our audiences, and foster an engaging, vibrant online community aligned with our mission and values.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Management:

  • Develop, curate, and manage published content (images, video, and written) across all social media platforms.
  • Monitor, listen, and respond to users in a “Social” way while cultivating leads and relationships.
  • Oversee design (working with designers) and ensure content aligns with the Dollani Initiative’s voice and branding.

Community Building:

  • Engage with online followers, respond to inquiries, and nurture meaningful conversations.
  • Build relationships with advocates, partners, and stakeholders in digital spaces.
  • Implement online moderation policies to ensure safe and respectful community environments.

Campaigns & Initiatives:

  • Plan and execute social media campaigns to support organizational initiatives, events, and fundraising activities.
  • Collaborate with communications and program teams to craft integrated campaign strategies.
  • Track campaign performance, optimize based on insights, and report on key outcomes.

Copywriting & Content Creation:

  • Write clear, engaging, and mission-driven copy for posts, ads, campaigns, and newsletters.
  • Tailor messaging to resonate with diverse audience segments while staying true to our voice.
  • Proofread and edit content created by others to ensure quality and consistency.

Analytics & Reporting:

  • Monitor, analyze, and report on key metrics such as engagement, reach, sentiment, and growth.
  • Use data-driven insights to inform future strategies and optimize ongoing activities.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the creative team, project managers, and program staff to align social media efforts with organizational goals.
  • Stay up to date with social media trends, best practices, and platform updates.

Other Duties:

  • Support event live coverage and real-time social media posting when needed.
  • Respect and apply all the PSEA principles and show a high commitment to report any SEA action.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • 3+ years of proven experience in social media management, community building, or digital campaigns.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a sharp eye for detail.
  • Solid understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, TikTok) and best practices.
  • Experience with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social) and analytics platforms.
  • Creative mindset with an ability to adapt tone and messaging based on context and audience.
  • Knowledge of online marketing, SEO basics, and advertising is a plus.
  • Sensitivity to humanitarian and cultural issues related to the region is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
