ROLE SUMMARY:
Farsight Africa is looking for a seeks an experienced, dynamic, and innovation-driven Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist to help in conducting and managing research and specifically monitoring and evaluation projects in East Africa. The Manager will be based in Kenya and will be expected to have experience working in the region preferably projects in Somalia and South Sudan.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Main Responsibility will be to Manage Monitoring and Evaluation and Research Services at Farsight Africa Group covering the countries of operation
Plan and manage resources effectively, including financial budgets.
- Contribute to the development and profile of our research expertise with clients and key influencers.
- Develop new business opportunities in line with the company’s strategic ambitions by contributing to developing and increasing our profile with customers and key influencers;
- Ensure that the company is up to date with developments in specified policy areas and research markets;
- Lead and support the development of new business opportunities, including preparing written proposals/bids for our prospective client.
- Provide day-to-day technical support to troubleshoot any challenges with digital products including data collection, reporting, e-learning and data visualization systems.
- Provide regular advice to the program implementation team on reporting quality, field challenges and programmatic/strategic actions.
- The senior M&E Specialist takes part in the department’s coordination and strategic meetings and provides high level technical inputs and strategic direction as required.
- Take lead in compilation of the departments Quarterly progress reports, client reports and managements updates as required.
- Monitor progress in the implementation and results of the department’s strategy against the strategic objectives and indicators.
- Take lead in conducting high quality programmatic data analysis, develop data visuals qualitative and quantitative data analysis, contribute towards the situation analysis, and progress, constraints and gaps assessments, and evaluation of project performance.
- Provide regular updates and advise the team leader accordingly.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Should have a master’s degrees in social sciences or related field
- Experience in project/programme evaluation and Research (5-10 years) sample work is required (links acceptable).
- Demonstrated experience developing individual and organizational capacity for data management, analysis, and use.
- Demonstrated ability in writing Research and M& E Proposals
- Extensive national and international (Somalia and South Sudan) experience in Monitoring & Evaluation and Social Research
- Experience in the use of participatory appraisal techniques in data collection, sensitivity to gender issues.
- Familiarity with the socio-cultural context of East Africa.
- Excellent writing and communication skills in English and
