The Agency is seeking a high qualified and experienced professional in programme and projects management to work as a project officer in UNRWA’s Field Office in Amman, Jordan. The incumbent of this post will provide programme and project-related management support to department through project identification, planning and reporting, working in line with programme staff and as part of the project unit team with the Jordan Field Office for maximum efficiency.

- Working conditions: Office environment with access to telephone, PC and other automation equipment, internet, and intranet. Field visits may be necessary as part of the job requirements.
Responsibilities
The incumbent is responsible for:
- Prepares detailed plan and cash-flow requirements as per UNRWA templates in coordination with Field Programme Support Office and monitors the implementation project- related activities in the Health Programme Department at the Jordan Field.
- Maintains and updates the computer database on each individual project.
- Maintains and provides up-to-date information on projects and programme activities in the field and develops and implements the progress of monitoring plans on the project-related activities.
- Coordinates with the Finance Department on financial matters and reporting related to projects.
- Prepares/edits proposals for submission to donor relation office at JFO and drafts correspondence regarding project reports, use of free balances and interest and other project related matters.
- Prepare project narrative and financial report for donor relation office at JFO, including closing out completed components and monitoring ongoing activities.
- Follow up on progress and issues regarding procurement, finance and construction wit relevant departments.
- Develop and maintain productive working relationships with management, donor relation office at JFO, beneficiaries, and other stakeholders.
- Assist the Health Programme to institutionalize Project Cycle Management Procedures.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Job Specific Qualifications
Work Experience
- You are required to have a minimum of five years of related experience in programme or project Management including monitoring and reporting, and project proposal preparation.
- You are required to have a working knowledge of project cycle management theory and implementation.
- You are required to have a university degree in Business Administration, International Relations, Developmental Studies, Social Science, Law or other related fields.
- You are required to have excellent command of spoken and written English and Arabic.

Special Notice
Type of Contract:
Limited Duration Contract (LDC), Band F. The Limited Duration Contract applies to external candidates and UNRWA internal candidates on LDC.
Duration of Contract:
6 months – with the possibility of further extension, subject to the availability of funds, satisfactory performance and continuing need.
Grade & Salary:
LDC- Band F monthly basic salary ranges starting JOD (1,057.700)

Other benefits include compulsory medical insurance, 30 days of annual leave pro-rated to the duration of the contract where less than one year, and family allowance (if applicable).
