ROLE SUMMARY:
The Project Coordinator reports directly to the Project Officer (PO) and is responsible for the implementing of psychosocial support (PSS) and child protection (CP) activities as part of Right To Play PSS- focused projects. You will provide guidance to community teams in using Right To Play (RTP) tools and methodologies to deliver psychosocial interventions effectively, ensuring a strong focus on PSS and CP principles. The role involves monitoring the quality and effectiveness of PSS and CP activities and ensuring alignment with project objectives. You will collaborate closely with partners, community teams, and stakeholders to plan, implement, and monitor activities, ensuring they address the psychosocial and protection needs of vulnerable children and align with the project’s goals. By utilizing play-based methodologies, and child protection approaches, and intervention strategies, you will create safe spaces for children to heal, develop, learn and grow in a protected environment.
You will oversee PSS and CP activities, build the capacity of partners and facilitators, and ensure the creation of safe, engaging environments that foster children’s mental health, resilience, and holistic development.
You will manage the PSS and CP components under the CP and PSS portfolio including the EQIE 2.0 (Enhancing Quality and Inclusive Education) project, a four-year initiative running from 2025 to 2029. EQIE 2.0 focuses on improving reading skills and psychosocial wellbeing of primary school children in non-formal education settings through play-based learning approaches.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
#1: Activity Planning and Implementation (45% of Time):
- Ensures participation of partners, children/young people and stakeholders in the process of project planning and implementing psychosocial support, and child protection activities, using age and gender friendly interventions and play-based approaches.
- Guides, supervises and mentors teachers, coaches, and educational supervisors/parent educators in developing and implementing PSS-focused activity plans and schedules, ensuring alignment with project objectives and effective use of play-based methodologies.,
- Assesses training needs of facilitators, teachers and partners; organizers and facilitate PSS – related training workshops; and evaluates training sessions to ensure alignment with project goals, quality standards, and child protection principles.
- Organizes and conducts awareness sessions, workshops, CP/PSS-Play Days, and recreational events to promote child protection and psychosocial wellbeing. Incorporates resilience-building strategies into PSS activities to foster long term psychosocial wellbeing among children and caregivers.
- Conducts structured observations during field visits to ensure adherence to RTP standards and provides feedback to partners and staff to enhance the quality of PSS delivery. Ensures feedback and complaints from community members are recorded, addressed, and incorporated into program improvements.
- Manages and coordinates the logistical arrangements for PSS-related training workshops and events. Handles equipment management and distribution, as well as advance payments and cash management for activity implementation.
- Supports the assessment of needs for facility repairs and upgrades in the community, facilitates the authorized work and ensures that overall work has been completed in accordance with the approved standards.
#2: Monitoring and Reporting (20% of Time):
- Conducts regular field visits to project sites and partners, including government officials, to monitor PSS activities, provide coaching and mentoring, and ensure effective implementation. Utilities monitoring data and feedback from partners, coaches, and teachers to refine and adapt PSS activities, ensuring evidence-based, child-focused, and inclusive interventions.
- Ensure all CP and PSS activities comply with RTP’s safeguarding and safety policies and child protection standards. Report any safeguarding issues promptly to ensure partners, coaches, and teachers adhere to these policies.
- Prepares and submits narrative, qualitative and quantitative monitoring reports (monthly, quarterly, and annual) to update country office on project progress.
- Document activity reports for each conducted event to support monthly and quarterly reporting.
- Ensure that all project-related documents and data are securely stored and shared only with appropriate parties.
- Participates in workshops and trains partners, coaches, and teachers, in using quantitative and qualitative data collection tools to facilitate effective monitoring and evaluation.
- Contribute to preparation and submission of financial reports related to PSS activity implementation, including initiating payments process, for transport, services, and other expenses tied to workshops, events, and tournaments.
- Ensures all materials, tools, and equipment’s distributed to partners, teachers, coaches, parent educators, partner schools and community members are well maintained and appropriately utilized for project related activities and not Misused.
- Ensures all CP and PSS activities are conducted in compliance with RTP’s safety and security guidelines, with a focus on providing safe and protective environments for children.
- Provide technical support to CSO partners on monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) activities, including the use of data collection tools and analysis to improve evidence-based reporting and program adaptation.
#3: Establish and Maintain Partnerships (20% of Time):
- Identifies community needs for PSS intervention, participates in the selection of communities and partners to be included in RTP programs, ensuring alignment with project objectives and local priorities.
- Represents RTP in the project location and relevant forums, regularly consulting with local partners, stakeholders and key beneficiaries to ensure visibility and alignment of activities with the community needs. Advocates for the integration of PSS and child protection in community initiatives and partners activities.
- Organizes meetings with key stakeholders, including teachers, coaches, parent educators, and community leaders, to discuss project progress, challenges, and implementations, fostering collaboration and shared ownership.
- Collaborates with the Ministries (Protection, Gender, Education, Social Affair, etc.) and relevant authorities to ensure alignment of CP and PSS activities with national educational and psychosocial support standards.
- Works with child protection stakeholders, including government bodies, CSOs, and NGOs, to strengthen referral pathways and ensure comprehensive support for children. Represent RTP child protection coordination meetings to enhance collaboration and integrate CP principles in PSS activities.
- Ensure RTP activities are communicated effectively to local community leaders and secure their involvement where necessary to strengthen program implementation and sustainability.
- Assist the Project Officer in developing reports for stakeholders an key beneficiary meetings, ensuring transparency and accountability in program delivery.
- Where needed, actively participate in and represent RTP in key networks, working groups, and clusters on CP and PSS to enhance visibility, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing.
- Facilitate and advocate for the inclusion of CSO partners in key national networks, working groups, and clusters on PSS to ensure diverse representation and input.
#4. Supervision and guidance (10% of Time):
- Conducts performance assessment of volunteers, coaches, teachers, and community facilitators providing constructive feedback to enhance their skills and effectiveness in delivering PSS and CP activities. In collaboration and consultation with partners, Project Officer, Training Officer, or Thematic Specialists implements facilitators (coaches/volunteers) and teachers’ professional development and peer learning approaches through community of practices and/or other existing approach according to the nature of the project.
- Ensures the delivery of professional development and peer learning approaches is aligned to existing project resources and tools.
- Develops capacity-building plans and sustainability strategies to ensure that CP and PSS interventions are institutionalized within partner organizations and continue post-project lifecycle.
- In collaboration and consultation with partners identifies the need of facilitators and teachers and advocate it to project officer and RTP team.
- Identifies and recommends coaches and teachers for certification, where applicable.
- Identify gaps in the project implementation in the assigned community and propose solutions to Project Officer
- Trains and mentor partners, volunteers, and facilitators on child protection principles, psychosocial support, and identifying signs of abuse or trauma in children.
- Provides technical guidance on integrating child protection and PSS activities, ensuring all interventions are child-cantered, safe, age and gender friendly.
- Collaborate with CSO partners to support their CP and PSS initiatives, providing technical guidance and strengthening methodological approaches to enhance the quality and impact of their interventions.
#5: Perform Other Duties as Assigned (5% of Time)

WHAT YOU’LL BRING (ESSENTIAL):
EDUCATION/TRAINING/CERTIFICATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology or any related discipline with a focus on mental health, psychosocial support, and child protection.
- Holds a valid driver’s license and has practical driving experience, as the position requires self-driving to project sites.
EXPERIENCE:
- 3 years’ experience in implementing and coordinating PSS and CP projects, including leading workshops, providing technical supervision, and capacity-building initiatives.
- Experience in addressing child protection concerns is essential.
- Experience with CP and PSS data collection and reporting
- Experience in integrating child protection principles and PSS into other sectors (i.e. education) interventions

LANGUAGES:
- Fluency in spoken and written English and Arabic
