Role Overview:
We are seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced senior humanitarian professionals who have operated at Programme Director/Deputy Country Director level. We are especially keen to hear from those with experience of managing large scale country programmes (with a focus on conflict and crises affected countries). The Programme Director is a key senior member of our Country Management Team with overall responsibility for developing the programmatic and funding approaches, guiding the programmes team in implementation and ensuring GOAL delivers high-quality programming to our beneficiaries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the country programme’s business development strategy, proactively identifying and assisting the CD with funding opportunities, cultivating strategic partnerships with donors and stakeholders,
• Oversee all aspects of programme implementation across all GOAL portfolios.
• Work with Technical coordinators and programme managers to ensure programmes are well delivered; follow a safe programming approach delivered are on time and on budget
• Provide leadership and direction to country programs, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and regional priorities.
• Oversee program planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation to achieve high-quality outcomes.
• Foster strong relationships with local stakeholders, including government agencies, donors, partners, and communities.
• Ensure compliance with organisational policies, donor requirements, and local regulations.
• Lead and mentor a diverse team of professionals, promoting a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
• Represent the organisation at national and regional forums, advocating for the needs and rights of the communities we serve.

Qualifications and Experience:
8 years of senior management experience in humanitarian or development programs, with at least 4 years in a leadership role.
Demonstrated background working in a senior management role with a similar NGO in complex and challenging environments,
Strong understanding of humanitarian principles, standards, and best practices.
Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Exceptional Leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective partnerships.
Fluency in English is required, Fluency in French is distinct advantage.
