JOB SUMMARY

The MHPSS Officer will be responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and monitoring of mental health and psychosocial support programs. This role requires strong technical expertise in MHPSS, and the ability to coordinate with local partners and stakeholders to ensure high-quality service delivery.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Technical Support & Service Delivery
  • Oversee multiple MHPSS projects, ensuring effective program delivery and adherence to best practices.
  • Represent MedGlobal at relevant coordination meetings, including co-chairing Technical Working Group and promote interagency coordination and MHPSS guidelines.
  • Liaise and collaborate with existing government structures and local authorities organizing MHPSS activities and advocating for collaboration on local MHPSS initiatives.
  • Coordinate the implementation of research projects aiming to establish evidence based MHPSS programming
  • Contribute to proposal writing, donor reports and internal MedGlobal reports as required.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight for the development and execution of MHPSS-related activities.
  • Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
  • Oversee data collection and analysis to track program effectiveness and impact.
  • Develop monitoring and evaluation (M&E) tools to assess program quality and effectiveness.
  • Prepare regular reports for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with donors and organizational requirements.
  • Operational & Administrative Support
  • Work closely with administrative and logistics teams to ensure the smooth implementation of MHPSS activities.
  • Ensure all program activities are implemented in line with global MHPSS standards and organizational policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, psychiatry, or a related field
  • Two years of experience in mental health programming.
  • Ability to develop and implement MHPSS assessments, program designs, and service delivery models.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in culturally diverse and challenging environments.
  • Proficiency in English and Arabic is required.
