1. Background
LACU is currently conducting the "Empowering Voices of Women-Led Organizations" project, which aims to strengthen the capacity, visibility, and influence of women-led organizations through inclusive community engagement, resource mobilization, and advocacy. The project spans multiple locations inside Syria and involves training workshops, stakeholder meetings, and field activities requiring reliable logistical support.
2. Purpose of the Role
The Logistics Assistant will support the effective planning, coordination, and execution of all logistical functions related to the project. This includes procurement, transport arrangements, event logistics, inventory management, and administrative support, ensuring that project activities are delivered efficiently and on time.
3. Key Responsibilities
- Logistics Coordination
- Support planning and coordination of all travel and transportation needs for project staff and stakeholders.
- Assist in organizing meetings, workshops, and training sessions, including booking venues, arranging catering, and preparing materials.
- Procurement and Supply Management
- Assist in the procurement process by collecting quotations, preparing purchase requisitions, and maintaining supplier databases.
- Ensure timely delivery of goods and services and maintain records of purchases and deliveries.
- Inventory and Asset Management
- Maintain updated records of project assets and supplies.
- Conduct periodic inventory checks and support asset tagging and tracking.
- Administrative Support
- Maintain an organized filing system for logistical documentation.
- Support finance and administration teams with logistical data required for reporting and budgeting.
- Field Support
- Coordinate with field staff to provide logistical support during field visits, including vehicle scheduling, accommodation arrangements, and material preparation.
- Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure adherence to procurement and logistics procedures in line with donor and organizational guidelines.
- Prepare regular reports on logistics and procurement status to the Project Manager.
4. Qualifications and Experience
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience in logistics or administration, preferably in an NGO or project-based environment.
- Good knowledge of procurement and inventory management procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- A commitment to gender equality and women’s empowerment.
5. Working Conditions
- This role may involve occasional travel to field sites.
- Flexibility in working hours may be required, especially around major project events.
