About TDA
The Day After (TDA) is a Syrian non-profit organization that is working to counter authoritarianism and support democratic transition in Syria. It adopts the values of human rights in accordance with international conventions and covenants.
OUR VISION
Syrians’ rights, peace, stability, and prosperity can only be achieved through a process of democratic transition and a comprehensive national program for transitional justice that lays the foundation for justice and reconciliation. TDA also believes that local communities and civil society organizations are key actors to bring about resilience, recovery, and democracy for Syria.

OUR GOALS
TDA identifies the following as goals that should guide the efforts of political transition:
- Supporting civil initiatives locally inside Syria and supplying them with knowledge in the areas of justice, human rights, and the political transition from an authoritarian regime to a democratic one.
- Supporting justice and accountability efforts by supporting victims of human rights violations in Syria, especially victims of arbitrary arrest, enforced disappearance and displacement, and monitoring patterns of violations and raising awareness of relevant actors and stakeholders.
- Supporting the efforts of the political transition from its position in the Syrian civil society in line with its values and objectives.
- Coordinating the efforts of Syrian civil society in the areas of transitional justice and engaging in the formulation of a political transition.

Job Purpose
The HR Officer will be responsible for managing recruitment, employee relations, payroll, and HR compliance. He/She will ensure adherence to organizational policies and labor laws while supporting staff development and well-being.
Job Duration: End of 2025, Renewable upon funds availability
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Human Resources Policy & Procedures:
- Develop, Review and or update human resource and administrative policies and ensure they are effective, efficient, fair and transparent, and promote equal opportunities.
- Develop, Review and or update human resource policies and procedures for recruitment and management of staff (terms & conditions of employment, steps & positions, salary structure, benefits, disciplinary procedures, termination).
- Review human resources and administrative procedures and assist/ support managers in their needs or ascertain human resource requirements.
- Ensure a complete orientation package is in place and that all staff are oriented on time.
2. Recruitment and Staffing:
- Assess staffing needs as required. Identify and recruit new and replacement staff including scheduling of contract extensions, new contracts, and necessary terminations.
- Liaise with all TDA senior management to coordinate the timely and effective recruitment process.
- Prepare job descriptions, terms of reference and submission of personnel requisitions in coordination with Executive Director and Line Managers/Supervisors.
- Prepare regular recruitment tracking reports.
- Ensure pertinent organograms, contact lists, and information flow lines are constantly updated and widely shared.
3. Administration:
- Establish and maintain personnel files.
- Ensure all emergency data forms are filled and safely filled.
- Coordination of performance and talent management.
4. Staff Development, Wellbeing etc.
- Assess training and development needs of staff and provide appropriate induction and orientation, training, supervision, and support as required. Ensure all staff always have adequate access to HR/Administrative policies and procedures.
- Monitor and uphold staff conduct and discipline and organize regular performance evaluations of all staff. Ensure that exit interviews/ debriefs are prepared at the end of service.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a similar role within national or international NGOs.
- An academic degree in HR Management, administration or any relevant field.
- Experience in HR operations, including recruitment, payroll, and employee relations
- Good communication and team building skills.
- Good command in Microsoft Office applications.
- Fluency in both Arabic and English both written and spoken.
- Resident in Syria preferably Damascus.
