Background and Rationale
Habitat for Humanity Kenya (HFHK) is a leading NGO dedicated to enabling low-income communities to access decent and affordable shelter, along with water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services. Since its inception in 1982, HFHK has operated in 17 of Kenya’s 47 counties, positively impacting over 350,000 households.
HFHK collaborates with government entities at all levels, community-based organizations, other nonprofits, and the private sector to tackle systemic barriers preventing families from accessing adequate and resilient shelter. HFHK’s multi-sector approach focuses on financial inclusion, WASH, disaster risk reduction and climate adaptation, land tenure security, and energy efficiency. HFHK’s key donors include BMZ Germany, The Foster Foundation-USA, Wolfgang Duerr Foundation, Aktion Deutschland Hilft (ADH) Germany, Mastercard Foundation, Hope Builders Germany, and Stichting Op Eigen Wieken Netherlands, among others.
To strengthen its fundraising efforts, HFHK seeks to engage an experienced individual consultant to provide grant writing services while also enhancing the fundraising skills of HFHK staff. The consultant will support HFHK in developing compelling grant proposals and equip the team with essential knowledge and tools to achieve long-term fundraising success. This will be achieved through hands-on grant writing support, structured training, and mentorship.
