Position Overview:

Greater Good Charities seeks a Grant and Reports Writer to work with the Advancement and Corporate Partners teams on foundation and corporate funding opportunities, grant writing and reporting, and assisting in managing funder relationships.

The Grants and Reports Writer is a member of the Advancement team and serves as a liaison between the organization and funding partners (Foundations and Corporate). The Grants and Reports Writer is responsible for researching, preparing, submitting, and managing grant proposals/reports that support the organization’s goals and meet funding guidelines and criteria. This individual will serve as the primary grant writer, assists in managing funder relationships, engages in compliance reporting, and supports special project initiatives. This position requires strong writing, data analysis, program budgeting, project management skills, with an emphasis on clear writing and outcome measurements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead grant proposal development and submission which includes:
    • Preparing and organizing materials (grant applications, narratives, and budgets) for proposals/LOIs.
    • Submitting and tracking grant applications.
    • Collaborating to finalize materials with Advancement, Program, Finance, and the Chief Executive Officer as needed.
    • In collaboration with the Chief Revenue Officer, meet with funding partners and Legal staff to explore funding opportunities and fulfillment requirements.
  • Manage the grant lifecycle from submission to reporting:
    • Maintain master calendar of grants and prospects and organize associated files and correspondence.
    • Maintain the library of grant support documents including resumes, bios, IRS forms, Board/staff lists, etc.
    • Execute thank you letters and facilitate completion of grant contracts/agreements.
    • Ensure acknowledgment of funding partners via website, e-newsletter, and social media through coordination with the Marketing team.
    • Collaborate with the Impact and Financial teams to maintain grant compliance and reporting, including outcome measurements, success stories, and grant budgets with a focus on tracking and fulfilling agreement reporting schedules and requirements.
    • Collaborate with the Advancement team in drafting compelling progress reports and targeted program updates (e.g. blog posts, press releases, social posts) for funding partners that fully capture programmatic success.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or at least four years of work experience with nonprofit administration, grant writing, or fundraising).
  • 3 to 5 years of experience as a successful grant writer with certifiable references.
  • Previous experience with nonprofit grant budget development and management.
  • Knowledge of grant application process, scoring criteria, and funding cycles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Experience with donor development/CRM software systems.
  • Experience working with national, international, and corporate partners.
  • Dedication to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative work environment
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills to manage complex projects, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced setting.
  • Proficiency in various design software and digital platforms.

Working Environment: This position is fully remote. The employee is expected to work 40 hours per week from 9 am – 5 pm in their time zone Monday – Friday. Travel:

Benefits include 12 paid national holidays, sick leave, paid vacation, parental leave, 401K, medical, dental, and vision benefits.

Salary: $60,000 – $75,000
