The Role
Under the guidance of Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) Lead and Advisors, the Gender Coordinator will support the integration of gender across PASP by operationalising the Gender and Social Inclusion Strategy and Action Plan. The role will support the MEL team to ensure gender and social inclusion are embedded within MEL systems and reporting and ensure gender is incorporated into country plans.
To support enhanced skills across PASP, the role will facilitate professional development in gender responsive approaches for PASP staff and other stakeholders. The role will support the communications team to produce products which demonstrate practices which enable gender equality, equity and rights to shift norms.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Support the GEDSI lead and Advisors to undertake consultation to inform the development and implementation of the Gender and Social Inclusion Strategy and Action Plan.
- Support the GEDSI lead to develop, implement, monitor and review the Strategy and Action Plan.
- Undertake research and literature reviews to inform advice and approaches to GEDSI mainstreaming across PASP, as well as the programs management and operations.
- Facilitate and lead gender professional development training for PASP and stakeholders.
- Supporting women’s leadership in the skills sector through establishing mentorship and accompaniment programs and establishing a community of practice.
- Support the communications team to develop communication, public diplomacy and advocacy products which demonstrate practices which enable gender equality, equity and rights, to shift norms.
- Facilitate and coordinate partnerships with gender equality organisations across the Pacific Region and Timor-Leste.
- Contribute to developing harmonious working relationships with DFAT, colleagues and key stakeholders, and assist to build the profile and reputation of PASP as a high performing support program.
- Support the MEL team to ensure gender and social inclusion are embedded within MEL systems and reporting and ensure gender is incorporated into country plans.
- As a member of the PASP team, contribute to: program strategy development and work planning; integration of GEDSI, First Nation perspectives, environmental considerations and other cross-cutting issues; fostering of a collaborative team; and measurement of results and production of reports.
- Other tasks and duties as required to ensure the smooth and effective delivery of PASP.

About You
Essential Experience and Knowledge
- Tertiary qualifications in gender, international development, social sciences, or another relevant field.
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role preferably across the Pacific and/or Timor-Leste.
- Extensive experience in gender policy, advisory or programming.
- Demonstrated understanding of DFAT priorities and development challenges related to gender equity and rights and how they apply in the Pacific region and Timor-Leste.
- Excellent communication, facilitation and coordination skills.
- Understanding of and commitment to Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI), Child Protection, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment (PSEAH), prevention of human trafficking, environmental protection, anti-corruption and other DFAT safeguarding policies.
