1. Background
LACU is implementing a Returning IDPs Family Support initiative aimed at enhancing the well-being of vulnerable families through access to psychosocial support, basic needs assistance, and capacity-building activities.
2. Purpose of the Position
The Finance Assistant will support the financial operations related to the IDP return and reintegration program. This includes assisting in financial reporting, budget tracking, payments, compliance, and administrative financial tasks to ensure effective use of resources in line with donor and organizational guidelines.
3. Responsibilities and Tasks
Financial Operations
- Process payments to vendors, staff, and beneficiaries following organizational and donor requirements.
- Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Enter transactions into financial software or manual systems.
- Prepare cash and bank reconciliation reports.
Budget Monitoring
- Assist in tracking expenditures against budget lines.
- Report any significant variances or anomalies to the Admin Manager.
- Support monthly budget forecast preparations.
Reporting and Documentation
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain proper filing systems for financial documents (receipts, vouchers, invoices, etc.).
- Ensure documentation is audit-ready and in compliance with donor requirements.
Support for Field Activities
- Support financial logistics for field missions and distributions (e.g., per diem, transport payments, cash-based assistance).
- Ensure financial compliance in community-based interventions and cash assistance programs.
4. Required Qualifications and Experience
- Degree or diploma in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in finance, preferably in a humanitarian or development context.
- Experience working with IDP or returnee-related projects is an asset.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Can report financially in English and Arabic
- Project location is (Aleppo, Daraa, Al-Raqaa)
- The candidate should be able to travel between the project location (when needed)
