General Description of the Organization:
Ghiras Al-Nahda is a Nonprofit Non-governmental humanitarian organization working to empower people through fulfilling their basic needs and seeking to improve community stability and resilience.
Job Purpose:
Field volunteers will work to enhance community awareness about the dangers of war remnants, including unexploded ordnance and explosive Ordnances. They will organize awareness sessions aimed at teaching individuals how to identify and avoid these hazards.
In addition, the volunteers will promote behavioral and attitudinal changes to ensure personal and community safety. They will contribute to fostering a sustainable culture of prevention among community members, ensuring a safer environment for everyone.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Organizing awareness sessions tailored for children to help them understand the risks in an age-appropriate manner.
- Conducting educational workshops for adults, including methods for safely dealing with unexploded ordnance.
- Distributing visual and written awareness materials to the local community.
- Raising awareness among children and adults about the dangers of explosive and unexploded ordnance, teaching them how to identify and avoid such hazards.
- Promoting preventive attitudes and behaviors to ensure personal and public safety.
- Submitting progress reports to the direct supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- A relevant academic degree (Human Security, Safety, or Risk Management).
- At least 2 years of practical experience in the education field or awareness-raising.
- Practical experience in community awareness regarding risks and handling unexploded ordnance.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
