Job Overview:
The IRC launched an emergency response in February 2022 to support Ukrainian refugees in Poland, working with partner agencies to provide emergency and integration assistance.
Communications, Marketing & Mobilization (M&M) is responsible for building the IRC’s global profile and brand, increasing private revenue, and influencing target audiences. The team handles all brand, communications, creative content, and digital engagement efforts. They launch multi-year campaigns to raise funding, profile, and influence, improving IRC’s presence globally. M&M also innovates the IRC brand to increase awareness and support, helping raise more money and change policies to improve the lives of crisis-affected clients.
Advocacy Team: The Advocacy team supports IRC country program advocacy goals and strategies. They track national policy developments, conduct research, and produce accurate information about the current context and the impact on IRC’s programs. The team ensures all advocacy materials are up-to-date and consistent across all channels, including country response updates, situational briefings, press releases, and the IRC webpage.

Major Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to improve IRC’s visibility and donor engagement.
- Collaborate with internal teams to build compelling content and campaigns that resonate with target audiences and align with IRC’s mission.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activities to determine the most effective marketing tactics.
- Manage digital marketing efforts, including social media, email campaigns, and website content, ensuring consistent branding and messaging.
- Conduct market research to understand audience preferences and tailor strategies accordingly.
- Coordinate with the communications team to align marketing efforts with overall brand strategy and advocacy goals.
- Track and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, using data to refine and improve strategies.
- Support the development of marketing materials, including brochures, newsletters, and promotional items.
- Coordinate and participate in events to promote IRC’s work and engage with potential donors and partners.
Under Advocacy team:
- Track and analyze policy developments and media coverage impacting refugees and humanitarian efforts.
- Conduct research on policies and issues affecting displaced communities, providing insights to inform advocacy strategies.
- Draft content for advocacy materials, including policy briefs, briefing packs, and press releases.
- Ensure advocacy messaging is consistent and up-to-date across all platforms.
- Build relationships with important collaborators, such as NGOs and government agencies, to assist in advocating for our goals.
- Participate in advocacy working groups and coordination meetings.
- Help coordinate visits from internal and external collaborators, including agenda setting and meeting planning.
- Facilitate information exchange between advocacy and program teams to ensure cohesive strategies.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in marketing, preferably within the NGO sector.
- Proven ability to develop and implement creative and effective marketing strategies.
- Excellent writing and communication skills, with a flair for clear and engaging content.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to drive marketing decisions.
- Experience with digital marketing tools and platforms, including social media, email marketing, and content management systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Fluent in English and Polish (C2 or native level). Proficiency in Ukrainian/Belorussian is a big plus.
- Demonstrated dedication to IRC’s mission and values, with a focus on inclusion and collaboration.
- Other duties as assigned.
Working Environment: Hybrid. This position is based in Warsaw, Poland, with frequent regional travel. The Communications & Advocacy Manager will act as a spokesperson as needed. This is a maternity cover role.
