- Job Summary:
The capacity building officer, under the direct supervision of the project manager, is responsible for coordinating, organising, and facilitating quality capacity building and training activities to the project staff. In addition, the capacity-building officer is responsible for guiding and extensively supporting the evaluation officers and surveyors.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct a capacity needs assessment of the team and communicate findings to the supervisor for action.
- Based on findings from the capacity needs assessment, develop a capacity development plan and ensure its timely implementation.
- Work with senior officers and the monitoring and evaluation officer to identify and propose priority training and capacity sessions for staff and stakeholders.
- Effectively manage all budget items related to training and capacity building to ensure spending is timely and in accordance with donor requirements.
- Prepare activity and training reports for review by the M&E Officer and submission to the Program Manager for approval.
- Work closely with Programme Manager to develop and review appropriate training materials, guidance, and procedures for relevant process.
- Participate in program monitoring, evaluating, and periodic reporting related to capacity building.
- Serve as a liaison to partners in the field, including government officials and local organisations.
- Coordinate with appropriate stakeholders in all aspects of project planning, monitoring, and implementation for all capacity-building activities.
- Identify and support local trainers or organisations that can provide follow-up and support following training workshops to address ongoing training needs.
- Write project reports, document results achieved, and share best practices for training and capacity building.
- Entry daily base data to database and share it with the project manager.
- Shall be able to travel to different provinces as per the project timeline.
- Report daily progress to project manager.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
- Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Project Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in capacity building, preferably in health, WASH, or protection interventions.
- Experience working with EU-funded projects is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Pashto & Dari fluent, and English is required .
