Job Description

AF Development Care offers a six-month internship programme designed for recent university graduates or current students specializing in areas relevant to International Development. Interns will have the opportunity to engage in impactful work, with the possibility of pursuing an additional six-month internship to explore a different learning experience and broaden their exposure to AFDC’s diverse areas of work.

The programme provides:

  • A monthly allowance to support interns during their assignment.
  • An enhanced allowance for interns from developing countries, contributing to housing and travel expenses, to promote geographic diversity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

  • Support AFDC’s international development initiatives in areas such as e.g., education, health, sustainability, program evaluation, knowledge management, documentation, data analysis
  • Collaborate with teams on projects tailored to the intern’s skills and the region of assignment.
  • Contribute fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to ongoing programs.
  • Participate in learning opportunities to enhance professional development.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited university or graduate school and have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies, with courses attended in the last 24 months; OR
  • Have completed university studies at an undergraduate or postgraduate level within the last 24 months.

Age:

  • Be 25 years of age or younger at the time of application.

Languages:

  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required.
  • Knowledge of Arabic, French, Spanish, or other languages may be necessary, depending on the region of assignment.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong interest in international development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
  • Adaptability, initiative, and a willingness to learn.

Additional Information

  • Duration: 6 months (renewable for an additional 6 months based on performance and organizational needs).
  • Allowance: Monthly stipend provided; higher allowance for interns from developing countries to cover housing and travel costs.
  • Duty Station: Assigned based on organizational needs and candidate profile.
