Olive Branch Organization is an independent non-profit organization committed to fostering community development and economic empowerment. Our mission is to empower community members, enabling them to overcome challenges and creatively invest their resources.
Objectives:
To conduct crochet workshops for 40 beneficiaries affected by the earthquake in Yayladağı, Türkiye, as part of a Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) initiative. The goal is to provide a therapeutic and supportive space where participants can learn crochet techniques, enhance resilience, and engage in a relaxing, skill-building activity.
Responsibilities:
– Lead crochet workshops, teaching various crochet techniques and creating a positive, engaging environment for participants.
– Develop and adapt crochet projects that are therapeutic, accessible, and suitable for all skill levels.
– Collaborate with the MHPSS team to ensure that sessions align with mental health support objectives.
– Monitor participant progress, offering encouragement and support to foster skill development and personal growth.
– Maintain a safe and inclusive environment in compliance with Olive Branch’s MHPSS guidelines.
Qualifications:
– Proficiency in crochet with experience in delivering group workshops or training.
– Background in mental health, psychosocial support, or a related field is preferred.
– Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate diverse participants.
– Fluency in Turkish is required; Arabic proficiency is an asset.
Duration:
Temporary role with a maximum duration of 1 month. Contracting will be based on the number of sessions conducted.
Location
The position is based in Yayladağı, Türkiye, with required in-person attendance for workshop sessions.
Other Specifics:
– Olive Branch will provide crochet materials, including yarn and hooks.
– The trainer must adhere to Olive Branch’s MHPSS policies, ensuring a safe and therapeutic workshop environment.
– Participation in an orientation session for MHPSS activities may be required before the workshops commence.
