Global Rights Compliance, founded in 2013, is an international human rights law foundation specialising in international humanitarian law, international criminal law and business human rights. Global Rights Compliance’s mission is to provide justice through the innovative application of international law. We operate in conflict-affected and high-risk areas around the world in over 45 countries.
With our main office in Kyiv, Ukraine, GRC is part of the Atrocity Crimes Advisory Group (ACA) initiated by the US, the EU, and the UK, to assist and facilitate Ukrainian law enforcement agencies in investigating and prosecuting international crimes. Special expert groups known as Mobile Justice Teams (MJTs) are composed of legal specialists and operate in both Kyiv and the regions to provide strategic advice and operational assistance to Ukraine’s Office of the Prosecutor General (OPG) in the investigation and prosecution of atrocity crimes in Ukraine.
Our legal specialists work closely with investigators and prosecutors to provide support in prosecuting international crimes, advising and assisting in the documentation, investigation, and prosecution.
GRC team members operate in senior roles as Prosecutors, Investigators, Lawyers and Legal Advisors leading and supporting major investigations and building prosecution cases with national prosecuting agencies on a global basis.
The Business Development Division is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Officer to join our dynamic team. This position will play a pivotal role in expanding our international portfolio, strengthening collaborations with institutions, partners, and stakeholders globally. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, target driven and have previous experience in a business development role. You will be part of a highly ambitious team and in return you will be able to grow and develop both professionally and personally.
Duty Station: Remote
Contract Duration: Initially 6 months with a view to extending.
The Role:
- Track "predicted/open solicitations" feeds of all the major donors (USAID, DRL, EC FPS, EC RelEx, MFA/NL, MaTra, UKAid, SIDA, CIDA, AusAID, etc.) to identify opportunities of interest to GRC.
- Identify philanthropic donors with interest in justice and human rights for grant submission.
- Assist in introducing GRC to local and international partners in target countries.
- Maintain BD Opportunities tracker to facilitate reporting on BD activities and results, and ensure opportunities are communicated to Division Leads in a timely manner.
- Represent GRC and attend events and meetings to identify upcoming opportunities and government donor priorities.
- Together with the Business Development Director and Division leads, identify solicitations to which GRC will respond to actively pursue business opportunities to expand the portfolio of work in line with Divisional & Organisational Strategy.
- Support Division leads to decide on activities, partners and produce grant proposals (narratives, budgets etc).
- Support the proposal drafting process, including technical responses, associated annexes ensuring standardised formatting.
- Maintain contact with existing donors to ensure seamless cooperation and assist project lead with grant extension negotiations/application.
- Support the drafting of cost proposals with advice from the Finance Director.
- Assist in organising and assist in coordinating meetings, workshops, and other programme-related events.
- Collaborate across divisions to ensure alignment of business development efforts.
- Assist in the development and implementation of business development strategies.
- Ensure high quality proposal documentation is submitted to donors in a timely manner and in compliance with procurement requirements.
Your Background
- Experience in an INGO or international development environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- 3 plus years of experience in a business development or sales support role, ideally with an international scope.
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Experience of proposal drafting process including familiarization with the necessary documentation requirements.
- Confidence and professionalism to represent GRC and manage external relations both via email and online meetings.
- Strong administration capabilities with a hands-on approach.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – Written & Verbal.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to priorities tasks and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and a very keen eye.
- Compatible for both independent and teamwork. A natural self-starter who is proactive and hands-on.
- Proficiency with MS Office and Google Drive.
- Fluent English language skills – verbal and written communication.
