MAGENTA’s Research team operates across the Middle East and North Africa, Sub Saharan Africa, Latin America and Asia on a range of projects that include research, strategy development, SBC intervention implementation, and evaluation. We are looking for exceptional individuals to join this team, driven by a keen desire to deliver social impact and who thrive in fast-paced environments.
Primary responsibilities of the research intern are the following (1) Support the coordination of research projects (2) Ensure research projects are delivered to high standards of ethics and rigour (3) Contribute to research design and analysis (4) Support fundraising through providing technical inputs to proposals and grant applications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Research Intern will report to the Behavioural Research Manager. Typical tasks include:
- Supporting effective coordination of research studies globally
- Liaise with Fieldwork Providers: Coordinate with external fieldwork agencies to ensure data collection is comprehensive, accurate, and completed within agreed timelines.
- Support Quality Control Processes: Monitor fieldwork progress and help implement quality assurance checks to maintain high standards in data integrity and consistency.
- Project Management Assistance: Maintain internal documentation, timelines, and status updates to support efficient project delivery across multiple international studies.
- Assist in design and analysis of research studies
- Contribute to Research Design: Assist in the development of research tools and materials, including questionnaires, discussion guides, and sampling strategies, under supervision.
- Data Analysis Support: Participate in the initial stages of data analysis—organizing, cleaning, and summarizing quantitative data, and coding qualitative responses as needed.
- Assist in Reporting: Help synthesize findings into clear and actionable insights for reports and presentations, working closely with senior team members to ensure accuracy and clarity.
- Support in Business Development and Fundraising
- Provide technical and administrative inputs into application grants for funding and proposal writing
REQUIREMENTS
- Education:
- Relevant degree (e.g. Psychology, Behavioural Science, Social Sciences, Engineering) from a top tier university required; Masters preferred
- Experience:
- 0-2 years professional experience
- Academic knowledge of Technical Areas; Qualitative OR Quantitative data analysis OR Behavioural Science
- Ability to work effectively, respectfully and successfully with governments, clients, partners and other stakeholders in complex settings;
- Language Skills: It is MANDATORY for a successful candidate to having working fluency in English PLUS TWO of the following Languages (Arabic, French, Spanish). For example. English, Arabic and French OR English, Arabic and Spanish OR English, French and Spanish
- Technological and software fluency, include Office 365. Fluency in Qualitative coding software a plus.
