JOB DESCRIPTION
AGO is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finance and Logistics Coordinator (Roving) to support the effective implementation of administrative, financial, and logistics functions across field offices in Northeast Syria. This position plays a key role in ensuring that finance and logistics operations in project areas comply with AGO’s policies and donor requirements.
Working in coordination with the Finance and Logistics departments, the Coordinator will oversee financial documentation, payment processing, asset tracking, procurement procedures, and supply chain operations in the field. The role also supports capacity building of field staff and ensures that internal controls are respected in remote locations.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Finance Duties:
- Ensure proper handling of cash and financial transactions in field locations in line with AGO’s financial procedures.
- Verify payment requests, prepare vouchers, and ensure all supporting documents are complete and accurate.
- Conduct field-level financial monitoring and support monthly financial reporting.
- Provide training and on-the-job coaching to field-based finance staff.
- Assist in budget tracking, expense forecasting, and compliance with donor rules.
Logistics Duties:
- Oversee procurement processes in the field, ensuring compliance with AGO’s procurement policies.
- Monitor stock and asset management, including inventory checks and asset tracking.
- Coordinate transport, delivery of goods, and warehouse operations in collaboration with the logistics team.
- Support the implementation of logistics procedures related to safety, maintenance, and fleet management.
- Provide logistical support for program implementation (e.g., events, distributions, field visits).
Coordination and Oversight:
- Travel regularly to field locations to monitor finance and logistics operations.
- Prepare internal reports and participate in coordination meetings as needed.
- Identify gaps or risks and recommend improvements to procedures or controls.
- Act as focal point for finance and logistics queries in field areas, in coordination with main office.
QUALIFICATIONS & PREFERRED SKILLS
- University degree in Finance, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably with an NGO.
- Solid understanding of financial systems, procurement, and logistics operations.
- Strong knowledge of donor compliance (e.g., USAID , UN agencies) is an asset.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and in remote settings.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Fluency in Arabic required; English and/or Kurdish is an asset.
- Willingness to travel frequently to field offices in Northeast Syria.
