Job Purpose
We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Management Expert, Roster with expertise in the following areas:

  • Security Risk Management
  • Crisis and Emergency Response
  • Operational Security & Business Continuity
  • Delivering Security Training

The ideal candidate will provide strategic security guidance, develop risk mitigation strategies, and ensure the safety and security of operations in development and humanitarian settings. This is a hybrid model (remote or on-site), project-based role, with successful candidates being included in ProLeap Development Group’s permanent consulting talent pool for future assignments. The Finance Expert will report to the senior leadership/client and collaborate closely with project teams to provide financial guidance and best-practice solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Security Risk Management

  • Conduct security risk assessments and develop mitigation plans.
  • Implement security policies, frameworks, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Advise on security compliance and ensure adherence to international security standards.
  • Analyze regional security trends and provide risk intelligence to leadership.
  • Design and oversee security training programs for personnel operating in high-risk environments.

Crisis and Emergency Response

  • Develop and implement crisis response plans, including incident management protocols.
  • Lead emergency response efforts and coordinate with stakeholders during critical incidents.
  • Conduct post-incident evaluations and recommend improvements to security strategies.
  • Provide guidance on personnel safety, including travel security and evacuation planning.
  • Collaborate with local authorities and international security networks to enhance response capabilities.

Operational Security & Business Continuity

  • Develop business continuity strategies to ensure operational resilience in crisis situations.
  • Provide advisory on physical security measures, including access control and surveillance systems.
  • Conduct security audits and assessments of operational sites and facilities.
  • Facilitate security capacity-building initiatives for local and international teams.

Delivering Security Training

  • Develop and deliver security awareness and risk management training tailored to development and humanitarian settings.
  • Conduct scenario-based security drills and simulations for teams working in high-risk areas.
  • Train field teams on emergency preparedness, travel security, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to security personnel and staff on best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Security Management, Risk Management, International Relations, or a related field.
  • 7-10 years of experience in security consulting, risk management, or crisis response roles.
  • Proven expertise in security risk assessments, emergency planning, and operational security.
  • Experience working in humanitarian, development, or high-risk environments.
  • Strong knowledge of international security frameworks, including INSO, ISO 31000, and HSE regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Arabic, French and Spanish is a plus.
  • Professional certifications such as HEAT, SRMC, SRMP, and other recognized security certifications in the development and humanitarian sector are highly desirable.
