Position Overview: The Oslo Center is seeking a dynamic and visionary Executive Director to lead our organization. The Executive Director will be responsible for the overall strategic, operational, and financial management of the Center. This role requires a strong leader with a deep commitment to our mission and the ability to inspire and guide a diverse team.
This is a full-time position, offered on an initial three-year renewable contract, with a six-month probationary period. The position offers a competitive salary and benefits package, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the organization.
- Oversee the development and implementation of programs and initiatives that align with the Center’s mission and goals.
- Manage the organization’s financial health, including budgeting, fundraising, and financial reporting.
- Foster relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, partners, and government agencies.
- Represent The Oslo Center at national and international forums, conferences, and events.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.
- Lead and mentor a team of dedicated professionals, promoting a culture of collaboration and excellence.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a non-profit or similar organization.
- Strong understanding of international relations, human rights, and democratic governance.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans.
- Excellent financial management skills, including budgeting and fundraising.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally is essential.
- Deep understanding of democratic systems, electoral processes, and democratic institution-building is required.
- Experience working in or with partners in developing countries is highly desirable.
- Candidates must have the legal right to work in either Norway or Switzerland or be eligible to obtain a work visa.
- Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., International Relations, Political Science, Public Administration) is preferred.
