BACKGROUND ABOUT WOMEN OF NOW FOR EDUCATION AND VOCATIONAL TRAINING:

Women of Now emerges as a dynamic entity, embodying the spirit, resilience, and vision of a new generation of Jordanian women committed to transforming the world of work. Building on SADAQA’s legacy of grassroots activism and systemic advocacy, Women of Now is a collective force amplifying the voices of women navigating the complex realities of today’s labor market. Women of Now reflects a growing movement that not only challenges entrenched gender norms but also redefines power and participation in public life. As part of SADAQA’s ongoing mission to dismantle barriers facing women workers, Women of Now carries forward the organization’s groundbreaking achievements—such as the gender-neutral reform of Article 72 and the expansion of social protection under Article 42—while forging new pathways for justice, equity, and inclusion. It stands as a symbol of the evolving role of women in Jordan, where care work is no longer seen as a woman’s burden but as a shared social responsibility, and where every woman’s right to dignified, fair, and supported work is non-negotiable.

DESCRIPTION ABOUT BUCRA:

Burden of Childcare Reduced and Addressed for Women in Jordan (BUCRA – meaning Tomorrow in Arabic) is a 5-year initiative (2024-2029) funded by Global Affairs Canada and designed to enhance the economic empowerment of women in Jordan.
