CANADEM is recruiting for its Air Movement Expert Roster

CANADEM is seeking seasoned Air Movement professionals with previous relevant experience for its Air Movement Expert Roster. CANADEM is a Canadian based NGO that works with various UN agencies through the standby partnership programme and with other humanitarian, development, and peacekeeping operations. We regularly deploy candidates in various areas of expertise all around the globe. Registration with CANADEM is always free. We are looking to expand our pool of experts for potential/upcoming opportunities with different UN agencies field offices and other operations. Most positions are for 3 to 6 month deployments.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE (some or all)

  • Hold one ore more of the following: a Commercial Pilot License; Navigator License; Air Traffic Control License; Flight Operations Officer; Flight Dispatch Officer License; or Loadmaster Certification (or equivalent); and, a minimum of 5 years experience in the aviation industry (or humanitarian air lift).
  • Have held a supervisory or management position in ramp operations and have successfully completed an Aviation Safety Management course or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of aviation regulations and safety procedures.
  • Strong leadership, cross-cultural communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in logistics management and ability to develop and implement operational plans for air movement.

Languages: Fluency in English, Fluent/working knowledge in French and any additional UN language is an asset, particularly Spanish, Portuguese, or Arabic.

CANADEM and its partners have a no-tolerance policy for inaction to prevent, respond to and follow up on alleged cases of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment (SEAH). For this reason, we adhere to all policies, procedures and training of the United Nations on The Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment (PSEAH). CANADEM mandates all deployees successfully complete the PSEA online course. This e-learning course is composed of a set of lessons designed to raise awareness about SEAH, become familiar with a range of measures to combat SEAH, understand the impact on victims and the consequences for UN Personnel who commit Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment.
