Duties and Responsibilities

The Donor Visibility Unit (DVU) oversees visibility and recognition for all OCHA donors, working within the Donor Relations Section. DVU plays a role at all phases of the institutional relationship with capital donors, from reviewing visibility clauses in the initial agreement, to thanking them for their contributions and partnership, showcasing impact and results, collaborating on joint campaigns, and amplifying donor testimony. Under the overall guidance of the Head of Unit, the intern will be asked to contribute to a range of tasks, for example: Social media & campaigns • Support social media campaign planning, development and implementation. • Draft content for DVR-related social media engagement. • Help organize the clearance, production, and capture of social media material. • Research social media presence, analytics, trends, tools & community growth Content support • Support production of engaging graphics and promotional digital materials for social media • Assist in image selection and archiving for external users; photo & graphic research • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications/special skills

•To qualify for an internship with the United Nations Internship Programme, the following conditions must be met: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). •Good knowledge of standard MS software applications is required. •Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. Your training, education, advance work or skills should benefit the United Nations during your internship.

Languages

Fluency in English (both oral and written) is required. Knowledge of any of the official languages of the United Nations is desirable.
