ROLE PURPOSE:

Save the Children Thailand, in partnership with Marriott Hotels Thailand and its 47 branches nationwide, is implementing the Achieve for Youth Employability Project to enhance youth employability and workforce readiness. Over the course of a year, this initiative will provide comprehensive kitchen and service training, equipping youth with vocational skills, and life skills, 21Save the Children Thailand, in partnership with Marriott Hotels Thailand and its 47 branches nationwide, is implementing the Achieve for Youth Employability Project to enhance youth employability and workforce readiness. Over the course of a year, this initiative will provide comprehensive kitchen and service training, equipping youth with vocational skills, life skills, 21st-century competencies, and language training in Thai and English.

The project aims to support approximately 20 youth from migrant communities and vulnerable Thai youth with diverse backgrounds, offering them hands-on training and real-world experience through internships at Marriott Hotels across Thailand. By providing practical skills and industry exposure, this initiative seeks to bridge the gap between education and employment, empowering youth with the tools they need to access sustainable career opportunities in the hospitality sector.

The Achieve for Youth Employability Project Officer will play a key role in supporting the Mae Sot Program Coordinator in the implementation, coordination, and management of the project, ensuring program quality, effectiveness, and cost efficiency. The role requires strong coordination with partners, direct engagement with youth participants, and fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment that enhances their employability, confidence, and long-term career prospects.

This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about youth empowerment, vocational training, and bridging education-to-employment pathways for marginalized youth. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting project implementation, liaising with key stakeholders, monitoring progress, and ensuring that project objectives are met effectively and sustainably 21stcentury competencies, and language training in Thai and English.

Role Dimensions: The Project Officer works covering target areas in Tak Province with traveling to another province in Thailand. This position will support the Program Coordinator – Mae Sot in coordinating with Thai government agencies, Migrant Communities, Migrant Learning Centers, Private sectors and partners.

Project period: Achieve for Youth Employability Project Phase 2 – Mae Sot (June 2025 – May 2026) will work closely with the Child Poverty Technical Lead, Programme Coordinator – Mae Sot, Business Development, and Advocacy, Campaigns, Communications, and Media teams to ensure reporting and visibility. Additionally, it will collaborate across functions with MEAL, Finance, Awards, Supply Chain, Human Resources, and Admin departments.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

Program Coordination and Support:

  • Assist the supervisor in planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the Achieve for Youth Employability Project according to its design and plans.
  • Support the supervisor and partners in organizing events, workshops, training sessions, and meetings with target groups, and relevant stakeholders, including project close-out activities.
  • Perform regular field visits to observe and participate in partners’ activities, and write visit reports.
  • Ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of financial, administrative, and supply documentation. Follow up on queries and initiate corrective actions on discrepancies, including those raised by partners.
  • Collaborate with other relevant staff to analyze collected data and information, and prepare progress reports.
  • Ensure data collection, management, and analysis comply with data protection guidelines.
  • Participate in and contribute to project progress review meetings with the Child Poverty Technical Lead, Acting – Program Coordinator – Mae Sot, and Project Progress Review Meetings (PPRM).
  • Assist the supervisor in maintaining regular updates of project progress on PRIME and in preparing the monthly fund request.
  • Support the supervisor in project close-out activities, including preparing hand-over and transition plans, organizing close-out meetings with partners/stakeholders, and drafting quarterly reports (if needed).
  • Following up and mentoring the youths.
  • Support the supervisor and the Business Development team in managing relationships with donors.

Representation and Coordination (Internal and External):

  • Ensure effective coordination and collaboration with key stakeholders and partners, including INGOs, civil society organizations, community groups, and government counterparts.
  • Participate in coordination and advocacy meetings at the local and provincial levels.
  • Perform other duties as directed, including representing the Achieve for Youth Employability Project in the absence of the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Thai Nationality
  • Bachelor’s degree in social science or relevant area
  • Good understanding of child protection issues in Thailand, migrant communities, and stateless communities with sound knowledge of the international standard of child rights and child protection

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years working on youth-initiative projects.
  • Experience in educational programs, vocational training, LGBTQI+, and child protection systems is highly valued.
  • Previous roles in the NGO/Foundation sector or international environments are preferred.
  • Proven track record in project design, planning, activity monitoring, and timely project implementation.

Skills:

  • Strong judgment and ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.

  • Proficient in office practices, procedures, and administrative systems, including filing systems.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Canvas
  • Skills in project administration, encompassing budgeting, reporting, compliance, and the principles of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL).
  • Skills in facilitator and conducting the focus group discussion with the target group.

Communication:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English, with an eye for detail.
