Position Description
The strategic purpose of this position is oriented towards acting as the overall finance leader for the Asia, Africa, and Middle East Regions covering management reporting as well as financial planning and forecasting. Support selected cross-functional work streams within finance but also in a wider business context as required. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting skills, a solid understanding of international financial regulations, and experience with multinational financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the SVP of Finance and Regional Leadership Team in the strategic initiatives/ priorities, and own the tracking & planning from a financial perspective
- Monitor actual performance against budgets and provide variance analysis
- Support project leader for specifically assigned major cross-functional business projects in pulling together quality recommendations for management’s consideration and approval including local country registration, identification of any potential outsourced services required
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for international entities
- Reconcile international accounts, including intercompany transactions and foreign currency adjustments
- Consolidate international financial results with corporate financial statements.
- Management of any outsourced services such as 3rd party payroll providers
- Co-ordinate and own the completion of recurring management reporting including following up versus plans and new outlooks
- Support Country Directors with budgets & forecast for their specific countries
- Successful completion of regional financial planning and forecasting including key deliverables, annual business plans and recurring forecasts
- Budget follow-up, country’s cost control, internal & external audits and mitigate financial risks ensuring all program or support activities are run in a compliant and cost-efficient manner
- In close coordination with Country Directors and support teams, negotiate terms of contracts with vendors, service providers, or consultants, including payment schedule & tax obligations; ensure that fair procurement procedures are adhered to.
- Capacity build local teams to ensure financial, compliance, budget control & general best practices
- Preparation of key deliverables for Business Review Meetings with the leadership team and facilitation of the meetings together with the SVP of Finance
- Together with other finance team members roll out the financial awareness and understanding in the organization on the basis of a prioritized roadmap
- Champion new initiatives and work to fix the root causes of any problems and challenges
- Any other tasks as required.
Qualifications
- Must currently live & have legal working rights In Thailand (might consider Malaysia or Indonesia for the right candidate).
- Some travel required, including regular trips within Asia and occasional travel to Africa or the Middle East..
- Bachelors degree required (masters preferred) or equivalent experience of at least 5+ years in comparative role.
- Must speak proficient English
- Proven proficient accounting experience
- Experience within an international finance role – preferred
- Experience within the nonprofit sector – preferred
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong knowledge of international accounting principles
- Proficiency in financial software systems
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial modeling
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
