Lifting Hands International is looking for an Aid Distribution & Warehouse Manager to start at the beginning of April 2025 in Greece with a minimum six-month commitment. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
About Us
Lifting Hands International operates a community center in Serres, a small city about an hour away from Thessaloniki in Northern Greece. We work with a population of 1000+ refugees at the local camps, providing regular aid distributions and a range of psychosocial support programs.
Role Profile
The Aid Distribution & Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the implementation, regular evaluation and development of distributions of food items and hygiene products for the majority of the Serres Camp population. In this role, the manager ensures the efficient operation of the warehouse and fosters collaborations with other organizations to facilitate the receipt and distribution of essential aid where it is most needed throughout the country.
Warehouse:
- Manage warehouse operations and stock using Boxtribute software
- Complete regular reports and program reviews in collaboration with senior management
- Coordinate warehouse shifts and lead a team of volunteers during operations
- Develop the network of local suppliers for distributions, ensuring alignment with budget restrictions
- Engage with partners and donors to meet distribution needs
- Collaborate with the Director of Logistics & Distributions to maintain oversight of finances and collaborate with the Logistics Team
Aid Distribution:
- Plan and manage distributions of food, clothing and hygiene items, including regular assessment, evaluation, and project improvements
- Design and implement project improvements in coordination with the Director of Logistics & Distributions, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy
- Maintain an up-to-date camp census
- Manage and lead a team of volunteers to facilitate distributions
Essential Criteria:
- Proactive: Ability to work independently without constant supervision
- Humanitarian experience: Previous experience in aid distribution, warehouse management, or logistics
- Driving requirements: Valid international driver’s license, with the ability to drive manual and a van
- People management: Prior experience leading and managing teams
- Professionalism: Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Teamwork: Strong communication skills and ability to work efficiently in a large, multicultural team
- Commitment: Minimum six-month
- Language: Fluent in English
Desirable Criteria:
- Knowledge of Greek / Arabic / Kurmanji / Farsi / French
- Understanding of key aid distribution principles
- Maintenance or construction skills
- Potential to commit to the team for 6-12 months
