Job Title: Project Finance Officer

Position Description:
The Project Finance Officer will support the financial management of various projects, ensuring compliance with donor regulations and internal policies. This role includes budgeting, financial reporting, expense tracking, and assisting with audits. The successful candidate will work closely with project teams, providing financial guidance and ensuring accurate financial data management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing and monitoring project budgets, ensuring alignment with donor requirements and organizational policies.
- Track project expenses, process invoices, and ensure timely financial reporting.
- Support financial compliance by reviewing transactions, conducting reconciliations, and maintaining documentation.
- Collaborate with program teams to provide financial insights and assist in budget revisions.
- Assist with grant and contract financial management, including financial reporting and close-out procedures.
- Ensure financial records are accurate, up-to-date, and stored appropriately in financial systems such as NetSuite, Salesforce, or other accounting platforms.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to queries.
- Provide training and guidance to program staff on financial procedures and compliance.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in financial management, budgeting, or grants finance, preferably in international development or the non-profit sector.
- Experience with donor-funded projects and financial compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with financial systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or other accounting software is an advantage.
- Experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, and expense monitoring.
Language Skills:
- Excellent spoken and written communication in English.
Other Skills:
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote setting.
- Proficiency in financial software applications, databases, and MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
